This past week has been a little slower on the activity side of things, as we gear up for the next phases. Servpro finished their work this past Thursday and we are hopeful to start drywall replacement in the next few days. We are currently in the middle of the bidding phase of asbestos abatement, which is scheduled to start September 29.
I thought it would be beneficial to share some pictures of what occurred and where things currently stand. These next few pictures were taken on July 23 and show the water in the building:
This first picture is from the courtyard looking down into the stairwell. The opening at the bottom is a door going into the sub-basement mechanical room.
This is the same stairwell from a different angle. The door on the right side accesses the basement at the classroom level.
This is the door going into the basement at the classroom level, from the courtyard. The water level here is essentially the water level throughout the entire classroom portion of the basement.
This picture is from inside the basement looking into the sub-basement mechanical room. If you look closely you can see the waterline from where the water receded as well as the steel door that was breached to allow water in.
From this picture you can see the standing water in classrooms. This was throughout every space in the basement.
This picture is inside the basement hallway, looking east. You can notice the water level on wall.
Even though the water was not deep in the classroom portion of the basement, the water infiltrated the drywall and inside the walls. Insulation inside the walls wicked water further up the wall. Approximately 4 feet of drywall had to be removed throughout the entire basement. These next few pictures show the current state of the classroom portion of the basement.

This picture shows an example of the tile starting to separate. This particular location is in the hallway. Occurrences like this will only continue to happen due to water getting underneath the tile.
