Ridgeview Families,
As many of you are probably aware, there was a significant watermain break in the Village of Colfax over the weekend. At this time, water has been restored but there is still a village-wide boil order in effect.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Village of Colfax workers for their tireless efforts on Saturday to restore water to the village. Your dedication is truly appreciated!
How does this boil order impact school?
School Will Be in Session Tomorrow
According to the McLean County Health Department, we can safely hold school during a boil order. However, a few adjustments are necessary to ensure the health and safety of our students. We kindly ask for your support with the following:
Water and Hydration
Water Fountains: All water fountains will be turned off.
Water Bottles: Please send your child to school with a filled water bottle. We will have extra water available if needed.
Restrooms and Hygiene
Restroom Use: Restrooms will function as normal.
Handwashing: Students should continue washing their hands with soap and water. However, due to the boil order, they should also use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer afterward.
Hand Sanitizer Availability: Extra hand sanitizer has been placed in bathrooms and throughout the building. Please remind your child about this extra safety step.
A Special Thank You
We would like to extend a special thank you to Sam’s Club in Normal for their generous donation of water and hand sanitizer!
Cold Weather Reminder
Unrelated to the boil order, we want to remind you that it will be extremely cold this week, with wind chills expected to dip well below zero. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.
Thank you once again for your continued support and patience!
Stay safe and warm,
Mr. Young
